Last weekend marked the third annual running of the Finley Sheep Dog Trials hosted by the Finley Show Society.
Organiser David Webb said there were competitors from Tasmania, Victoria and NSW participating over the five days starting on Thursday and running until Monday lunchtime.
The arena trials showcased the dogs working in the paddock with their handler and sheep.
The yard trials will be held during the Finley Show in September; each of these trials demonstrate the demanding and challenging sport for both handlers and dogs.
Finley Show Society Inc. gratefully acknowledge the support of Carson Thomas for the supply of the trial sheep and Kevin Sexton for transporting the sheep. Congratulations to all competitors.
The Finley Show Society has bags of DogPro Plus Working Dog feed for sale for $25 each.
Please contact the secretary on 0499872437 to arrange purchase.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Anne Freestone for her dedication and commitment to the Southern Riverina News over the past nine years.
Anne has been extremely generous with her time and great knowledge to help me take my first steps with the ‘From Finley’ column.
She assures me she has lots of other activities planned for the future, many of which I believe involve long walks chasing a small white ball and hopefully hitting some holes-in-one.
I’m sure the people of Finley wish Anne and Bill all the very best in their next adventures.
Please feel free to call or email me with your upcoming activities and events, I am looking forward to sharing with the rest of Finley and surrounding towns, what’s happening in Finley.
