Community safety forum

June 14, 2018

Mitchell Shire in partnership with local police will host a community safety forum on June 19 at the Community Place, Chittick Park.

The forum will cover community safety topics including theft of and theft from motor cars, road safety, family violence and home safety. There will also be an opportunity to speak with police about any crime and safety concerns.

ANPR operation

An Automated Number Plate Recognition operation in Nagambie saw more than 230 cars checked. The ANPR was on Wednesday, June 6, in High St and then along Goulburn Valley Fwy.

Police were happy with the conduct of drivers because there were no alcohol-affected or drug-affected drivers detected.

Three unregistered vehicles were nabbed, one a heavy vehicle carrying horses that had allegedly been unregistered for 15 months.

The driver was given a penalty notice for $1400. Nine speeders were also caught.

Trailer stolen

A small grey box trailer with a wire cage was stolen from McIntyre St, Seymour. The trailer was parked in the street and was taken sometime between 4.50am and 5.15am on Thursday, June 7.
