Heathcote v Mount Pleasant

Round 15, 2017 at Pigeon Park, Heathcote.

Heathcote 16.16 (112) def. Mt Pleasant 5.19 (49)

WHILE Heathcote may not have troubled teams in the upper reaches of the ladder in 2017, they certainly made the most of their opportunities against the teams around them.

Mounts were simply no match for the Saints, who won their first game wearing purple jumpers in memory of Georgia Edsall-French, a 15-year-old Heathcote girl who was killed in a head-on collision in Queensland.

Louis Piccolo was one of the stars of the show kicking four goals, but Bradley Morgan and Luke Podhajski were not to be outdone with three of their own.

Darcy Mclean kicked two goals and was named best on ground.

Jake Condon, Dylan McCutcheon and Lincoln Frost were also named among the better players.

The win kept the Saints’ hopes of playing finals alive, but they ultimately fell short with just four wins for the season.
